The Secret lagoon natural swimming pool fed with water from a hot spring.
In Iceland we have many natural hot springs all over the country. One of them is The Secret lagoon in Flúðir. Flúðir is a geothermal area with a lot of greenhouses used to produce vegetables and the famous Flúða sveppi, or Flúða mushrooms.
The Secret lagoon was used to teach kids how to swim in 1947, the first time swimming was taught in Iceland. In 2014 the old swimming pool was restored but still keeps it´s authentic atmosphere.
Situated not far from the Golden Circle, a stop at The Secret lagoon is a good idea to relax in the afternoon after seeing Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss, the three main attractions in the Golden Circle.
