The majority of the birds that hatch regularly in Iceland are migrating birds. It means that every year they fly over the Atlantic ocean back and forth. To Iceland in the spring and back to other countries in the autumn. Mostly they fly to Europe and all the way to Africa. The bird that migrates the longest distance of all birds or all animals in the world is the Arctic Tern. This small bird, that only weighs around 120 grams, migrates all the way to the Antarctic. Every year they leave a distance that can reach up to 70,000 km (43,750 mi)
