One of Iceland most active volcano is now being watched closely as recent activity indicates that it might be in a phase of early stages of next eruption. Geologists have sent out warning and meeting have been held with the locals to prepare immediate evacuation in case of eruption.
In Iceland we are not unfamiliar with eruptions as we have them approximately every four years. Other active volcanoes that are “due on time” are some of our central volcanos like Hekla and Katla.
The good things are that people have not died as cause of eruption for several hundreds of years and these mountains are watched 24 hours.
